Teen Wolf cast updates: Is Dylan O’Brien coming back for the revival movie?

The cast and characters of Teen Wolf will reunite for a brand new movie, but will Stiles Stilinski be in it? Is Dylan O’Brien back?

Fans of MTV’s long-running supernatural drama Teen Wolf were both thrilled and stunned to learn that their show would be getting revived in a brand new movie for Paramount Plus.

It was confirmed on the fourth anniversary of the show’s conclusion that Scott McCall would return to Beacon Hills for a new adventure, featuring a deadly new supernatural threat. While that essentially confirms series star Tyler Posey will return, the devoted fanbase is curious as to who else will be back.

One name that trended on social media within minutes of the movie’s announcement was that of Stiles Stilinski, with fans voicing their desire to see Scott’s right-hand man return.

Will we see Dylan O’Brien return to the supernatural fray for a new movie with his Teen Wolf colleagues? While much of the cast has taken to Twitter to tease their possible involvement, he has not (as of yet). Here’s what we know.

Is Dylan O’Brien coming back as Stiles Stilinski in 2022’s Teen Wolf movie?

Dylan O’Brien’s status in the Teen Wolf movie has yet to be confirmed by the studio. However, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that he’ll be back.

For starters, the teaser trailer released by the official MTV Teen Wolf social media accounts primarily features Stiles’ jeep. That, along with the wolf, suggests that Stiles is just as likely to appear Scott McCall.

The most compelling bit of evidence is from none other than cast member Linden Ashby, who portrays Sheriff Noah Stilinski on the show, as he confirmed in a response to a fan that we’ll see some scenes between the sheriff and Stiles.

Moreover, while Dylan has gone on to enjoy an incredibly successful movie career, appearing in movies like The Maze Runner franchise, American Assassin and Love & Monsters, he has always remained close to his Teen Wolf family and still made sure that he was part of the final season of the show when scheduling conflicts with the final Maze Runner film and a serious on-set injury prevented him from playing a regular role.

The movie’s synopsis teases Scott’s return, as well as his alliances with old and new friends, so it’s a safe bet that Stiles and Dylan will appear in Teen Wolf: The Movie in 2022. After all, everyone knows how popular a character Stiles is, so it would only make sense for him to be coming back with the leader of the McCall Pack.
