Batman: Fear Sate continues in Batman, Nightwing, and Catwoman comics. Each of these DC issues are crucial to the Fear State storyline.

Batman: Fear State technically started before the actual crossover did. It began in March with A-Day in Infinite Frontier No. 0. Over the last couple of weeks, Fear State‘s official beginning was Batman: Fear State Alpha at the end of August. This is where the Scarecrow completely took over Gotham. We also learned that Poison Ivy’s personalities have been split and the only way to save Gotham is to get them together again.

In Batman No. 112, the Dark Knight met with Barbara Gordon and the Batgirls to formulate a plan and it’s safe to say a lot happened in only a few issues. This week, the happenings continue in Nightwing No. 84, Catwoman No. 35, and Batman No. 113.

Batgirl returns

In the previous issue, Dick Grayson announced that he would be dedicating his money and time to Blüdhaven’s homeless. Before he could start, however, he received a message from Anti-Oracle thinking it was the real Barbara Gordon. Thankfully, Batman showed up to help before Nightwing could be captured or killed. Dick then went to Barbara and told her what happened. After hearing that, she’d had enough and decided to suit up as Batgirl to help put an end to Anti-Oracle and Fear State.

Barbara has an implant in her spine that prevents her from being paralyzed after her life-changing run-in with The Joker. But it wasn’t meant to withstand the abuse that being Batgirl would bring with it. Despite knowing the risk, she puts on the costume away, knowing that her friends and the city are in danger.
