Young Justice season 4 isn’t too far away and fans are excited. Here’s everything you need to know about Young Justice: Phantoms, including its possible release date, cast, trailers, news and more.

Young Justice is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated TV shows of all time. It has been a presence in the lives of comic book and superhero fans for over a decade and yet it has only aired three seasons.

The show was infamously cancelled after its second season (in spite of the season 2 finale bringing in impressive numbers) and resulted in one of the most passionate fan campaigns of all time, as DC fans endlessly campaigned for the show to return. That campaign was reinvigorated when the show’s arrival on Netflix renewed interest in it.

That campaign was also very successful as it was announced in 2016 that the show would be revived for a third season, titled Young Justice: Outsiders, on the DC Universe streaming platform. And after that return proved to be successful, it was renewed for a fourth season, titled Young Justice: Phantoms, that would be exclusive to HBO Max (after DC Universe was rebooted as a comics-only service).

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Young Justice season 4, its premiere on The CW, its cast, any trailers and more.

Young Justice season 4 release date

Young Justice season 4’s release date has yet to be officially confirmed. However, it is expected to premiere on HBO Max sooner rather than later.

On September 23, creator Greg Weisman confirmed in a tweet that in terms of completing the season, they are in the “home stretch” as 19 of the confirmed 26 episodes had been completed and the next seven are in post-production.

With that in mind, Young Justice: Phantoms could theoretically premiere as early as November 2021 as the season will likely be split into two parts. That said, it could be held until 2022 as Titans and Doom Patrol are currently releasing new episodes weekly on HBO Max at the moment.

Young Justice season 4 cast

The cast for Young Justice: Phantoms has to be confirmed but it’s pretty likely that the core cast of seasons 1, 2 and 3 will returning, meaning that you’ll once again hear the familiar voices of Jesse McCartney as Nightwing, Danica McKellar as Miss Martian, Nolan North as Superboy, Khary Payton as Aqualad and Stephanie Lemelin as Artemis. Moreover, the new arrivals from last season, the Outsiders, will likely have a role to play here as well.

No word on if Wally West will finally come back to us, but it’s likely that Jason Spisak will be involved in some capacity. In the meantime, here’s the cast we’re predicting:

  • Dick Grayson/Nightwing – Jesse McCartney
  • M’gann M’orzz/Miss Martian – Danica McKellar
  • Conner Kent/Superboy – Nolan North
  • Kaldur’ahm/Aqualad – Khary Payton
  • Artemis Crock/Tigress – Stephanie Lemelin
  • Violet Harper/Halo – Zehra Fazal
  • Victor Stone/Cyborg – Zeno Robinson
  • Brion Markov/Geo-Force – Troy Baker
  • Bruce Wayne/Batman – Bruce Greenwood
  • Roy Harper/Red Arrow – Crispin Freeman
  • Wally West/The Flash – Jason Spisak

Young Justice season 4 trailer

There is no trailer for Young Justice: Phantoms yet. However, if the first half of the season has been completed, you can rest assured that a trailer has probably been put together.

As for when fans can expect it, don’t be surprised if we get some new footage at DC FanDome.

In the meantime, let’s revisit the epic trailer for Young Justice: Outsiders to remind ourselves what went down last season.

What is Young Justice season 4 about?

The exact storylines that Young Justice: Phantoms will explore have not yet been announced, but aside from the interesting subtitle, you can imagine that some of the season will deal with the fallout from season 3.

With Geo-Force now ruling Markovia, having seemingly forsaken his allies, he is essentially a pawn that will no doubt be used by The Light – the secret organization that continues to cause the team of heroes problems (and has done so since the very first episode of the series).
