These were the 10 best moments from season 1 of Marvel Studios’ What If…?
Marvel Studios’ Disney Plus shows have all been hits from start to finish. The first three live-action installments set a high bar so the project following Loki needed to be more than just good. It had to be memorable. What If…? debuted and didn’t disappoint. Some could say that it exceeded expectations.
Each episode showed a different Marvel Cinematic Universe reality. Fans got to see how complex and sometimes simple changes can have a dramatic effect on the entire universe. For example, Hope van Dyne’s untimely death led to a hero like Hank Pym killing all of the Avengers.
One of the best things about the series was that none of them were the same. Each episode made us feel things for different reasons. We may have teared up after Captain Carter missed her dance, but our tears were different at the end of Doctor Strange’s episode.
Now that season1 of What if…? is over, it seemed like a good time to rank the best ten moments from season 1. Let’s begin.
10. In the hands of the Watcher
Party Thor is one of the best characters of the year. In What If…? he’s an exaggerated version of the Odinson from Thor: Ragnarok. He has all of the fighting skills we know him to have with a very frat boy mentality.
When Uatu was recruiting him for his mission, Thor was in the middle of fighting Ultron Sentries and ignoring Uatu’s presence. Since they were pressed for time, Uatu was forced to grab Thor. The look on Thor’s face, followed by the scream when he realized he’s being held in a giant hand, will always be entertaining. This writer rewound that part at least five times!
