Titans season 3 finale spoilers: Does Red Hood die?

Titans season 3 will conclude with its season finale next week, but will it be Jason Todd’s last stand? Is Red Hood going to die?

Jason Todd (Curran Walters) has been at the center of Titans‘ third season since the beginning. The premiere opened with him pleading with Bruce to let him take down The Joker, with the season then following on from that fateful night as Robin died and Red Hood was born.

We later discovered that Jason had been visiting Dr. Jonathan Crane at Arkham Asylum because he was tired of being overlooked, ignored or underappreciated by his mentor figures. And thus, he sought out a truly terrible one in Scarecrow.

Red Hood’s reign of terror in Gotham City has been down to Crane’s manipulation and it has taken Jason some time to see that now. However, the season’s penultimate episode, “Prodigal”, saw the former Boy Wonder finally break free from his grasp, agreeing to help Dick and the Titans take him down once and for all.

Is this the beginning of the end for Jason’s run on Titans?

Is Jason Todd going to die in the Titans season 3 finale?

Jason Todd has already died once this season and he sure doesn’t fancy doing it again. However, he clearly feels like he wants to redeem himself for all the horrible things that he did while under Crane’s tutelage – and that means helping the Titans stop him.

From the look on Jason’s face, it’s clear that he feels a lot of regret for his heinous actions. Dick confirmed that he will never be a Titan again, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t want to atone. Could that come in the form of a sacrifice?

Crane already tried to kill Jason for backing out of his plan so he already has a target on his back, but you can bet that target will get so much bigger when the villain discovers he is working with the Titans again.

Could Jason end up making the ultimate sacrifice to protect the people he once called friends and help save the city he was responsible for destroying? We’ll have to wait and see.

There have been rumors of a possible Red Hood spin-off in the future, so let’s hope that he’ll make it out of the finale alive.

The Titans season 3 finale arrives on HBO Max next Thursday, October 21.
