Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Is Amber Heard in Aquaman 2?

Since the release of Aquaman in December 2018, there have been a lot of questions about the second film in the Aquaman franchise.
When would it drop? What comic storyline would the film be adapting? And, most importantly, which characters from the original film would be returning for the highly anticipated sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Considering he plays the title character, we all know Jason Momoa is coming back as the film’s title character, but what about his trusted partner and frequent scene-partner Amber Heard, who played Mera, princess of Xebel?
Is Amber Heard in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?
Although there had been a lot of speculation as to whether Amber Heard would return for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, it has been confirmed Heard will reprise her role as Mera in the upcoming sequel to DC’s breakout film.
If there was any doubt still in the minds of fans, those were put to rest when we received our first glimpses of Heard back in action as Mera during the DC FanDome global event. In the brief behind-the-scenes reel shared during the event, we were treated to our first look at Mera who seems to be picking up right where she left off in the first film in joining Aquaman on his latest quest.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom release date
Similar to Aquaman, the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s hit blockbuster will be coming during the month of December. In fact, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be releasing nearly three years to the date that Aquaman debuted with a scheduled release date of Dec.16, 2022 for the sequel film.
