Peter Parker is in a coma, Captain Marvel is buried alive, and more comic book moments.

The month of October was a big one for comic book fans. In Robin No. 7, Damian Wayne found out that Ra’s al Ghul’s mother is alive and running the Lazarus Tournament. Elsewhere, The Death of Doctor Strange saw The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Clea fight three beings called the Three Mothers. and definitively lose.

That’s just the beginning of what we saw. There are other crucial moments that happened this month. Here are some of the best.

Peter Parker is in critical condition

Comic book: Amazing Spider-Man No. 76

Peter Parker ingested a massive amount of radiation from The U-Foes’ Vapor in Amazing Spider-Man No. 75. While Ben Reilly was safe due to his suit’s protection, Peter had to be brought to the hospital. While at the hospital, he gave Ben his blessing saying, “You deserve to be Spider-Man.” Ben left with a smile on his face. Proud that he could be Spider-Man without any guilt. After Ben is out of ear shot, though, Peter says he can’t feel his body, seizes, and falls into a coma.

Why is this important?

The news of Ben Reilly becoming Spider-Man wasn’t a secret but seeing how it happened made the change seem real. This also makes sense for the character. Whenever a Spider-Man is born, it’s preceded by a tragedy. Peter became the hero Spider-Man after Uncle Ben died. Miles Morales took on the mantle after his universe’s Peter Parker was killed. Now we have Ben Riley. It’s doubtful that Peter is going to die, but, you never know.
