The Marvel Cinematic Universe has not stopped growing since its inception in 2008. From Iron Man, it has evolved and expanded over the years to become the most beloved movie franchise in existence today.

Its latest installment, Eternals, introduced audiences to the shared universe’s newest superheroes. However, it turns out that they are actually its oldest superheroes. Yes, the titular heroes have been on Earth longer than any of the MCU’s stars, but they haven’t been able to get involved for their own reasons… until now.

Eternals may be busy launching the MCU’s next group of heroes, but like with every movie in the Marvel shared universe, it’s equally focused on making some times to the actual franchise. And with that would usually come familiar faces.

One name that has popped up a lot in discussions about returning MCU stars is Sebastian Stan as fans were curious as to whether Bucky Barnes would appear in the movie.

Is Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes in Eternals?

No, Sebastian Stan does not appear in Marvel’s Eternals. Although Stan’s character, Bucky Barnes, has already played an integral role in the MCU’s fourth phase through The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he doesn’t make his presence felt in this movie.

When does Bucky Barnes appear next in the MCU?

Having played a major role in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the future for Bucky Barnes is undoubtedly exciting, but we don’t yet know what it will look like for the former Winter Soldier. As that series appears to be a limited one, the chances of a second season are unlikely but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of him.

With rumors of Bucky evolving into the White Wolf in the foreseeable future, we could see him return in the already announced fourth Captain America movie or perhaps even Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (or its spin-off series on Disney Plus).
