Why isn’t Eternals on Disney Plus?

Marvel’s Eternals has made its way to movie theaters but why can’t you find it on Disney Plus right now?

The third of four theatrical releases from Marvel Studios in 2021, Eternals has arrived in movie theaters this week.

The 26th film installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it brings its titular group of heroes out of hiding and into the spotlight. Heroes who have chosen to remain hidden for generations, they now seek to protect the world from the vicious Deviants, who have also come out of hiding after years of presumed death.

Eternals is a larger-than-life adventure that promises to bring forth a new generation of heroes. No doubt, audiences will be flocking to the movie theaters to see them in action. But can they also watch it on the Disney Plus streaming service?

Is Eternals on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, you won’t find Eternals on Disney Plus for some time, so don’t expect to spend this weekend watching it from the comfort of your own home. No, fans of the streaming service will have to wait a little while longer for the movie to arrive.

Why isn’t Eternals streaming on Disney Plus?

While Disney and Marvel Studios found great success with the day-and-date simultaneous release of Black Widow on Disney+ and in theaters, the studios have now decided to move forward with theatrical releases only for the MCU movies. That started with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and will now continue with Eternals.

Like its predecessor, the movie will have a 45-day exclusive window before it will then be added to the Disney+ library, where it will be available to stream along with the majority of MCU movies.

Where can I watch Eternals online?

As Eternals is released exclusively in theaters, it isn’t available to watch online or on any kind of VOD service just yet. However, after that initial 45-day release window is finished, look for it to arrive on Disney Plus.
