Wiz Kid is working with Gyrich
Comic book: S.W.O.R.D. No. 9
Henry Peter Gyrich has been trying to destroy Krakoa and the X-Men for a few months now. During the Hellfire Gala, he spoke with Alpha Flight’s former leader Guardian about how to stop mutants from becoming what he deems is too powerful. In S.W.O.R.D. No. 7, Gyrich says he has a mole in S.W.O.R.D. We find out that his informant is Wiz Kid.
Why is this important
It’s not shocking that Wiz Kid is working with a mutant enemy. Wiz Kid seems like the kind of person who’s always looking for whatever can make them happy. However, there’s no guarantee that they’re working for Gyrich. Wiz Kid probably told Abigail Brand as soon as they were contacted. It could be why Brand is offsite and Cable is standing in for her.
Maverick is spying on Wolverine
Comic book: Wolverine No. 17
Maverick has always been available to the highest bidder. It was apparent when Logan asked Maverick for help. He immediately asked what was in it for him. Later, Domino reminded him that he has friends and fellow mutants that need his help and that maybe he should do it for that. As the issue goes on, we see that Logan’s friend Agent Bannister finds out that Logan is still being spied on. He doesn’t know that it’s Maverick doing the spying.
Why is this important
This seems to be a theme with Krakoa. Since they’re a new nation, this isn’t shocking. It’s also not surprising that Maverick is being shady. He’s messed up things with Logan before. For some reason, Logan always forgives him. Considering this is messing with all of Krakoa, Wolverine may not be as forgiving as before. Maverick is hurting people Logan loves.
