The Mandalorian season 3 is not coming to Disney Plus in January 2022
The Mandalorian season 3 is coming to screens soon, but not soon enough.
Star Wars fans are excited for The Mandalorian to be back on their screens. The beloved Star Wars spin-off series premiered to rave reviews when Disney Plus launched back in 2019 and it has continued to impress with each one of its installments.
Led by a career-defining performance from Pedro Pascal, the show follows a lone Mandalorian as he is hired to retrieve a being known as “The Child” (a.k.a. the phenomenon known as “Baby Yoda”) and ultimately decides to go on the run, protecting the child from any threats that dare to harm them.
A critical darling, The Mandalorian is proof that there is a future for Star Wars beyond the Skywalker saga and it’s looking like that future just may be on the small screen. On that note, it became a vehicle to launch fellow Star Wars-based series, such as the much-anticipated Ahsoka led by Rosario Dawson.
The show usually releases new episodes in the final 8 – 9 weeks of the year. However, in spite of the fact that its second season concluded at the end of 2020, there weren’t any new episodes in December 2021 (as The Book of Boba Fett) premiered instead, meaning that we’ll have to wait a bit longer for The Mandalorian season 3.
The Mandalorian season 3 release date
The Mandalorian season 3 is expected to arrive sometime in 2022. After reports that it would not stream in its typical fall/winter slot (as that slot will now go to The Book of Boba Fett), fans expected it to arrive in early 2022. However, with the third season currently in production, it’s unlikely that we will see new episodes of the Star Wars series until at least spring (at the very earliest).
When it does arrive, there is no doubt that Din Djarin – and the fans watching at home – will be in for one heck of an adventure in that galaxy far, far away.
