Is Black Widow in Hawkeye?

Clint Barton gets the spotlight in Marvel’s Hawkeye but will he be joined by his longtime best friend Black Widow?

Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) has been a fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his introduction a decade ago in Thor.

One other aspect that has been a fixture of his tenure is his longtime kinship with Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow. Naturally, fans are wondering if we will see Natasha pop up at all in Clint’s long-awaited series Hawkeye.

Black Widow got her chance to shine earlier this year in her long-awaited solo movie, so it seems fitting that Clint gets the chance to do the same in his own Disney Plus series.

The pair have always battled side-by-side and in unison – something that we recently saw in animated form in Marvel’s What If…? – but can we expect a reunion in Hawkeye?

Is Scarlett Johannsson’s Black Widow in Hawkeye?

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Scarlett Johannsson will be reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff in Hawkeye simply because of the character’s fate in Avengers: Endgame. There is a small chance that she may have filmed a cameo appearance but, again, given Natasha’s fate (and the fact that she bowed out with her solo movie prequel), that seems unlikely.

That said, Black Widow’s death will continue to play a role in the series as Clint attempts to come to terms with the fact that his longtime friend and partner is no longer by his side. He may also feel guilt over the fact that he wasn’t able to stop her from sacrificing herself at Vormir for the Soul Stone.

Speaking of Avengers: Endgame fallout, we know that it will play a role in some capacity as another Black Widow will likely be making her presence felt.

Is Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova in Hawkeye?

It has been confirmed that Florence Pugh will be reprising her Black Widow role as Yelena Belova. If you’ve seen the film, you will know that Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (who we first met in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) assigned Yelena to her next target: Clint Barton.

Moreover, the woman who appears to be recruiting her own army of potential heroes informed Yelena that Hawkeye was responsible for her sister Natasha’s death. And as a result, we can expect to see Yelena surface at some point to seek vengeance on Clint.

How will that go, and will he be able to convince her that her sister insisted on that sacrifice to save half of the universe?
