Superman and Lois is finally coming to the UK as it will air on BBC One. When can viewers expect it to premiere?
Superman and Lois was a triumph for the superhero genre. The show instantly became another gripping offshoot of the ever-growing Arrowverse, but even more impressive than that was how it proved to be a successful reinvention of TV’s most heavily-adapted superhero – and even managed to use an already-established version to do it with.
Finding itself on the right end of acclaim from both fans and critics, the series offers up a veteran Man of Steel and Lois Lane, both of whom have been living their heroic lives for a very long time, as they struggle with their greatest challenge yet: Raising teenage boys while saving the world.
After much anticipation, the series finally makes its UK debut on screens, airing on BBC One. Needless to say, DC fans in the UK are excited to enjoy it for the first time.
That said, which Saturday can they expect it and what time will it premiere?
When does Superman and Lois air on BBC (and at what time)?
Superman and Lois airs on BBC One in the UK on Saturday, December 4, at 5:40 p.m. GMT. This is rather monumental as it’s the first time an American superhero series has aired on the channel in a very long time. Moreover, it’s the very same slot that BBC found success with in the ’90s when it aired Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman which subsequently became Doctor Who‘s primary slot before it moved to Sundays.
This is also the timeslot before Strictly Come Dancing, which UK fans will know is the country’s most-watched program of the week, meaning that Superman and Lois‘ premiere could bring in a lot of viewers.
After the pilot episode airs, the show will air weekly on Saturdays. However, all 15 episodes will be made available on the BBC iPlayer as soon as the premiere concludes.
