Kevin Feige has confirmed that, at some point, Daredevil will be officially in the MCU.

When you think of Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. comes to mind. Wolverine? Hugh Jackman. At this point, if you look to any of the original six Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, those actors/characters are synonymous with one another.

One could argue that any of the MCU adjacent heroes, those that were once part of Netflix, can make the same claim. Hardcore fans tend to think so, having had Charlie Cox (the actor who portrayed Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Netflix series), Daredevil, and #SaveDaredevil trending numerous times over the last year or so. And, perhaps, Kevin Feige has been listening?

Sitting down with CinemaBlend, the head of Marvel Studios fielded questions about the man without fear. With the deal at Netflix having run its course, the character’s potential to become more blatantly part of the MCU has never been greater. It’s always been only a matter of time when Daredevil would find his way to either a Marvel film or Disney+ show, but who would portray that incarnation of the character was never officially known.

That is, until now…

Charlie Cox will be the MCU’s Daredevil

When CinemaBlend asked Feige what he thought about Charlie Cox staying with the part, the usually tight-lipped Marvel Studios President had some surprising things to say, commenting:

"“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”"

As you can see from Feige’s comments, he does still play a bit coy. IF we see the man without fear… Where, how, when we see Daredevil remains to be seen. Regardless of not knowing any kind of timeline of when we can expect to see Charlie Cox as either Matt Murdock or Daredevil, despite those rumors, fans of his portrayal can take pleasure in knowing their pleas didn’t go unheard.

The timing of Feige’s comments is also noteworthy. Hawkeye just introduced Echo, a deaf warrior with connections to Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin). Kingpin is also closely related to Daredevil and there have been plenty of rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrayed the villain in Netflix’s Daredevil, would be reprising that role in an upcoming episode of Hawkeye.

D’Onofrio’s appearance in Hawkeye would, for the fans at least, confirm that Charlie Cox and other actors from Netflix’s Daredevil would likely be on the way. Feige could be getting ahead of that to try and keep even more rumors from getting too out of hand.

But if the rumors are true about D’Onofrio’s Kingpin being in Hawkeye, does that mean the rumors of where Matt Murdock/Daredevil may turn up are also true? Charlie Cox has long been rumored to play a role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, even if it’s just as Peter’s lawyer. Then there is She-Hulk, another Disney+ show that is on the horizon. Jennifer Walters is also a lawyer who may benefit from learning how to practice law from another superpowered hero.

Either way, it’s a good time to be a Daredevil fan!
