Doom Patrol

Let’s start things off with the most bizarre group of heroes you’ll probably ever see lead a superhero TV series – and that’s really saying something considering DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is on this list!

Doom Patrol has long been a fan-favorite TV show. An unexpected critical darling, its first season was exclusive to the DC Universe streaming platform and became an overnight sensation. Its second season was the first of the DCU shows to debut on HBO Max (albeit simultaneously with DCU), paving the way for almost all of the shows to jump ship before the former service ceased producing original TV shows. And with that, its third season came just recently, streaming exclusively on HBO Max.

Very much like its eclectic line-up of heroes and anitheroes, Doom Patrol is something of an anomaly. It’s getting more and more bonkers as it goes on and the third season was a clear example of that, with time-hopping and even death on the menu for the titular team.

While fans weren’t quite as sold on season 3 as they were with the first two seasons, it was still a resounding success on all fronts and its season 4 renewal at DC FanDome is yet another example of that.
