Spider-Man: No Way Home is finally upon us, but can we expect Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to appear in the MCU movie?

If you ask any Marvel fan what film they are most excited to see, there is a strong chance that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be at the top of that list.

The long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe offering has been the biggest topic of discussion in film and pop culture conversations for over a year now, with it possessing the same larger-than-life feel that the MCU’s Avengers movies tend to have.

One of the reasons everyone is so excited for it? The exploration of the multiverse – something that was teased in a major bait-and-switch in the previous film Spider-Man: Far From Home. And we know that the multiverse will give us former Spidey foes, with Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe and Thomas Haden Chuch reprising their respective roles as Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Sandman from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, and Jamie Foxx and Rhys Ifans reprising their respective roles from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man saga as Electro and Lizard.

There are lots of questions in regards to cameos, but the biggest one is undoubtedly: Are those film franchises’ heroes returning too?

Do Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return in Spider-Man: No Way Home?

It has yet to be confirmed if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but the former Spideys are expected to bring their respective iterations of Peter Parker back to the big screen in the movie.

The pair have long-been rumored to show up in the upcoming film, with that alone becoming the most discussed aspect of the entire movie. There hasn’t been any official confirmation as to if it’s actually happening, and almost everyone involved in the production has outright denied it, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Apparent set photos have implied that the pair will be involved in some capacity as the duo team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but we’ll have to wait and see just how authentic they are (and if the rumors are true) when the movie is released.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters in the US on Friday, December 17.
