Is Elizabeth Olsen in Spider-Man: No Way Home?
Wanda Maximoff has become the breakout star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, but will Elizabeth Olsen be reprising the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home?
When you talk about the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s accomplishments in 2021, the conversation has to start with WandaVision. The first ever Marvel Studios series to stream on Disney Plus, it saw Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their roles from the MCU movies as Wanda Maximoff and Vision in the most confounding – and compelling – adventure we saw all year.
Notable for many reasons, it remains one of the most powerful tales the MCU has told, but it also saw the Scarlet Witch showcase her true potential, with Elizabeth Olsen receiving an overwhelming (and well-deserved) amount of praise as a result of it.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to see her reprise her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next year, but will she be returning to the MCU a little bit earlier than that?
Just when will the Scarlet Witch be back?
Is Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in Spider-Man: No Way Home?
Fans were hoping to see Elizabeth Olsen reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it’s not clear as to whether this will actually happen or not.
The movie is set to feature Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Stephen Strange in a supporting role as he helps Peter Parker repair the multiverse after their spell to protect the latter’s identity as Spider-Man accidentally rips it apart. With all of the cameos taking place in that film, many thought the Scarlet Witch might appear, but that does not seem to be the case.
That said, recent rumors suggest that the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home will actually be the trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, meaning that we could see a snippet of Olsen’s return to the MCU after all.
