Riverdale reminded viewers just how weird things get on the show when its sixth season premiered recently. The long-running CW series launched what the network is calling a “five-episode-event” that took the show in an even more disturbing direction than ever before.
Set in what was a parallel reality, Riverdale season 6’s first five episodes take place in a small town called Rivervale and even though things are rather similar to how we remember them in the season 5 finale, they also couldn’t be more different if they tried.
Yes, Rivervale has proven to be a shocking event. With that long-awaited Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover finally taking place, the standard was high, but the show’s 100th episode took things even higher… and stranger, very, very stranger.

When does the next episode of Riverdale season 6 come out?
Riverdale season 6 will be taking a somewhat lengthy hiatus from screens. It returns to The CW to air its sixth episode on Sunday, March 6 2022 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
It will then be released on Netflix internationally the following day, arriving at 8:00 a.m. GMT in the UK.
This marks the second time that Riverdale has been moved this year. A staple of Wednesday nights for so long, the sixth season kicked off on Tuesday night for its five-episode-event to coincide with The Flash‘s five-episode-event.

The synopsis has not yet been released for the sixth episode of Riverdale season 6, but we do know that it will deal with the aftermath of the Rivervale event and pick up where the season 5 finale left off.

The CW released a brand new trailer for the sixth episode of Riverdale season 6 and it’s an appropriately shocking one.
With the towns of Riverdale and Rivervale now split and back to their own devices, the series is set to pick up where the season 5 finale left off. That means dealing with the aftermath of Hiram Lodge’s bomb and kicking off a new storyline that will continue for the rest of season 6.
