Spider-Man: No Way Home might be hitting theaters on December 17, but don’t expect the latest Spider-Man film to arrive on Disney Plus this month.

While many movies continue to release simultaneously in theaters and via a streaming platform, No Way Home will be taking a page from fellow recent Marvel releases Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals in releasing exclusively in theaters.

As a result, fans hoping to catch Marvel’s latest Spider-Man feature will need to head out to their local theaters when the film opens on December 17 as the film will not be among the titles coming to Disney Plus in December.

When will Spider-Man No Way Home be on Disney Plus

If you’re hoping to catch Spider-Man: No Way Home on Disney Plus, we have some bad news for you as it’s not looking likely that the film will be making its way to Disney Plus anytime soon.

While most Marvel movies have arrived on Disney Plus shortly after their theatrical run with the streaming service hosting nearly every Marvel Cinematic Universe film, the one exception to this rule has been the Spider-Man films.

This is due to the fact that the films are co-produced by Sony Pictures which has prevented Marvel from being able to easily add the Spider-Man films to Disney Plus. Although there is a chance Disney could find a way to work its magic in striking a deal with Sony to make No Way Home available to stream on Disney Plus, there are currently no plans for the film to stream on Disney Plus at this time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home streaming release date

At this time, Sony has not confirmed when Spider-Man: No Way Home will be available to stream, but if history repeats itself it’s looking likely that fans will have to wait until at least March before the film will be available to purchase via digital platforms such as Amazon Prime.

Sony released fellow superhero film Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Dec. 14, nearly two and a half months after the film opened in theaters on Oct. 1 in theaters. Should the studio follow a similar release timeline for No Way Home, we anticipate the film could be available to stream as early as March 2, 2022.
