Tom Holland will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man 4, but when will the Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel arrive in theaters? Here is everything you need to know.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is officially out in the world. The long-awaited Spider-Man film has been a huge topic of conversation for Marvel, superhero and film fans in general for over a year now, with a lot of speculation particularly surrounding the central story and the character returns.

Focusing on Peter Parker in the aftermath of Mysterio’s life-changing public reveal of the wallcrawler’s true identity, No Way Home sees Spidey turn to Doctor Strange in the hopes of repairing the damage. But will that Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure lead to even more for the friendly neighborhood webslinger?

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Spider-Man: No Way Home, its release date, its cast, any trailers and more.

Is Spider-Man: No Way Home Tom Holland’s last Spider-Man movie?

It’s unlikely that Spider-Man: No Way Home is Tom Holland’s final Spider-Man movie. The actor did suggest that we were coming to the end of Spidey’s story in the MCU when he confirmed that No Way Home was the final chapter in the “Homecoming trilogy”. However, Sony producer Amy Pascal suggested there were plans to work on a new trilogy with the character.

Moreover, at the No Way Home premiere, Pascal spoke with Variety and said that if it were up to her, Sony and Marvel’s partnership with Spider-Man would move forward. This suggests that the new trilogy isn’t a foregone conclusion, but a likely possibility.

With that being said, fans can at least be cautiously optimistic about seeing Tom Holland swinging onto their screens again in the very near future.

Spider-Man 4 release date

No official release date for Spider-Man 4 has been confirmed as the movie itself hasn’t been confirmed. However, given that there has been a two-year gap between each of the three MCU Spidey movies thus far, it’s likely that the earliest we could expect the fourth Spider-Man movie is late 2023 or early 2024.

Spider-Man 4 cast

As no official confirmation of Spider-Man 4 has been made yet, there is no definitive casting. One thing we can confirm, though, is that if Sony and Marvel Studios’ partnership continues, then Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Aside from that, everything remains uncertain, as it isn’t clear if the film will pull a total reboot and use Peter’s new status quo to launch a brand new status quo for the next trilogy, meaning that all familiar characters won’t be a part of it. The more likely option, though, is that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will return as Michelle “MJ” Jones and Ned Leeds at some point. That said, it’s unlikely that Marisa Tomei will reprise her role as Aunt May.

Spider-Man 4: What is Spider-Man about?

*Major Spider-Man: No Way Home SPOILERS Ahead*

While no official plot synopsis has been released for Spider-Man 4, it’s likely that the plot of it (or one of the potential sequels in that rumored trilogy) will entail  the arrival of the alien symbiote that created Venom.

The film’s mid-credits scene saw Tom Hardy appear as Eddie Brock (as one of the many characters who were pulled into that universe by Doctor Strange’s spell) and after he (and Venom) were sent back to their universe, a small portion of the Venom sybmiote was left behind, indicating that it will play a part in a future Spider-Man movie.

Furthermore, it would also likely feature Peter attempting to make MJ and Ned remember who he was, or him leaving them be and one of/both of them remembering on their own.
