Spider-Man: No Way Home has burst into theaters and both the post and end credits scene give us a tease into the future of the MCU and the future of our favorite web-slinger. *Warning: heavy spoilers ahead*

After months of anticipation and excitement, Spider-Man: No Way Home has finally hit theaters as the long wait is finally over. It was a rollercoaster of a ride, leaving fans with a lot to talk about.

Now that many viewers know how the Marvel Cinematic Universe film comes to a conclusion, it is time to break down some of end credits scenes.

***Contains spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home***

After the first set of credits roll and we all take in what we just watched, we run into a drunken Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) at a bar in Mexico. Brock, who is talking to his bartender, is trying to get a grasp on this whole new universe he has entered as we saw in the post credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

His bartender explains to him that there is more than just one hero in this universe and that there is a “tin-man” who flies (Iron Man), a giant angry green guy (The Hulk), and a purple alien who wiped half of the universe out with a snap (Thanos). Brock, confused and feeling as if he should help states that he thinks he should go to New York and talk to Spider-Man.

As he states his intentions to talk to Peter Parker, though, Brock and Venom are transported back to their universe, due to Doctor Strange resetting the multiversal spell earlier in the film. Right as the end credits are about to roll, however, the camera pans in on a black symbiote that was left behind in the MCU by Eddie Brock.

Is Venom officially coming to the MCU?

All signs lead to that symbiote having big implications going forward in the MCU, especially when it comes to the future of Spider-Man.

I think this is all leading to the story of black suit Spider-Man from the comics – a story that was briefly explored in Spider-Man 3. With that in mind, it’s possible that Parker will eventually come into contact with this symbiote as we know it is already attracted to him.

The question that arises though is if Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock character will ever return to the MCU. I think the answer to that question is no. While yes the symbiote is from Eddie, Sony likely wants to continue with Hardy being the lead of their Spider-Verse. Bringing him back into the MCU would have to lead to another catastrophic multiverse event like it did in this film.

All in all, this should eventually break off into a separate Parker-symbiote event that is exclusive to just the two of them. I would assume that this symbiote will be explored in future Spider-Man films with Tom Holland. So we are just going to have to wait and see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer

The second post-credits scene was something much different than those of past end credit scenes produced by Marvel, as we got our first look at the new movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This trailer/sizzle reel gave us a look at how the events of the newest Spider-Man movie play directly into the film that will arrive in May 2022.

The trailer starts off by giving us a look at what Doctor Strange is going through after he cast the spell that ripped open the multiverse and the direct implications that it will have on his character. While there are plenty of great shots highlighted throughout the trailer, there are also plenty of teases that had fans on their feet.

For starters, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) is back! After the events of Wandavision we see Stephen Strange go to Wanda’s cabin seeking help and asking her questions about the multiverse. While in the trailer it seems as if Wanda is going to help Strange and the team he has put together, we have a sneaking suspicion that the evil we have seen in Wanda could come out by the end of this film. It’s going to be awesome to see her back on the big-screen but this time officially as the Scarlet Witch.

While there are plenty of amazing shots, the money shot of the trailer is when Strange is told that, “the greatest threat to our universe is you”. We then see an evil looking Strange standing face to face with the Doctor Strange that we all know.

Well, this is a tease of none other than the Doctor Strange Supreme that we saw in Marvels What If…?  It will be very interesting to see how they handle this version of Supreme Strange compared to the animated television show, but that is hard confirmation that the devilish version of Doctor Strange is heading to the big screen. I would assume that he’s headed for a role very similar to that which he played in What If…?

If you don’t plan on seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home but want to see this trailer, do not worry, a full version should hopefully be released online shortly in the upcoming weeks.

The future of the MCU is exciting as from the post credit scenes we get to see more multiverse films and more Sony-Marvel crossovers. The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home are leading to something bigger and greater than we could ever imagine. So buckle up your seatbelts, as we are in for an exciting ride of Marvel content coming very soon.
