Number 6: Eternals

Eternals has the dubious distinction of being the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of being declared rotten by Rotten Tomatoes. But if you go by how the audience viewed it, the movie fared much better.

Eternals was always going to have a difficult time finding traction. It was introducing ten new characters at the same time to the MCU and the Eternals run of comics was not the most well read.

Despite those challenges, most fans thought the film had an engrossing story and the characters being introduced were well received. There’s a reason fans seemed to have enjoyed the film, even if the critics had a less favorable opinion of it.

Having said all that, there are reasons why the critics were less than thrilled with Eternals. Keeping up with ten brand new characters was difficult. The middle section of the movie was arguably the slowest paced section of a movie in the MCU and it had a very difficult time keeping the attention of moviegoers as a result.

Eternals laid some serious groundwork for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to cover in Phase Four. The movie said the Eternals will return, but it remains to be seen if it will be in their own sequel or if they will appear in other projects taking place in the MCU.
