The Boys season 3 is not coming to Amazon in January 2022
Amazon’s The Boys season 3 will not be premiering at the start of the new year.
When it comes to superhero TV shows in 2021, there are a lot of them – and that’s even something of an understatement. But when it comes to those which push the boundaries of the genre and find new ways to reinvent it, The Boys stands alone at the top of the list.
The Amazon Prime original is based on the eponymous comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Developed by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, it focuses on the titular group of vigilantes, who take the fight to the world’s “official” superheroes – corrupt super-powered individuals who are little more than glorified celebrities doing what they are told by the equally-corrupt Vought International.
The mature show has been constantly on the end of critical and fan acclaim, with Amazon choosing to expand the franchise by greenlighting a spin-off series. It also inspired the streaming service to continue its venture into mature superhero TV with animated series Invincible.
The Boys season 3 is one of the most sought-after TV seasons right now, but when can fans expect new episodes? Unfortunately, it won’t be making its presence felt this coming month. The streaming service has unveiled the new arrivals coming in January 2022 and The Boys season 3 is not part of the line-up.
The Boys season 3 release date
The Boys season 3 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 3, 2022. Even though it’s a little later than fans had hoped (it was expected to arrive on Amazon Prime sometime in early 2022), it goes without saying that they are incredibly excited for its comeback.
If it’s anything like the previous season, Amazon will likely premiere the first three episodes at once before then unveiling the rest on a weekly basis.
