The Walking Dead best duos: Rick and Michonne
Neither Rick Grimes nor Michonne (Danai Gurira) had been in a romantic relationship for such a long time before they got together in the season 6 episode “The Next World.”
Them getting together meant a lot to fans because this duo had been fighting side-by-side since Michonne turned up at the prison with baby supplies. Even Gurira is delighted that this “stereotype-breaking” relationship happened. “People thought it was so huge and radical that my character and the Rick Grimes character became a couple, and I guess it was,” she said at the virtual #Unstereotype Alliance Global Member Summit (Via ComicBook).
Nobody would want to get on the wrong side of these two. Michonne is skilled with her signature Katana, while Rick is pretty handy with his revolver. On the personal side of things, Michonne has always been there for Rick.
In many ways, she was a surrogate mother to Carl and Judith. They even have a child together, Rick Grimes Jr. However, Rick still doesn’t know he and Michonne have a child together because he disappeared before he knew she was pregnant.
Michonne left the show in season 9 after finding evidence of Rick’s whereabouts. Whether she finds him is a different story altogether, but fans are hoping to see them reunite in the upcoming “Rick Grimes” movies!
