The Walking Dead best duos: Abraham and Eugene

If there are any two characters in The Walking Dead that go together like chalk and cheese, it simply has to be Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt). Rather interestingly, the strange thing with these two is that you wouldn’t necessarily call them friends. Not at first, anyway. Instead, the partnership forms from a bit of foolery from Eugene to acquire Abraham’s assistance to fulfill an enormous goal. That goal being Eugene’s claim that he knows the cure to the zombie apocalypse.

Of course, we know now that Eugene was completely lying. And for that, he certainly got his comeuppance when Abraham punched him in the face. Still, the two spent so long together working towards their common interest, gathering a group along the way. Some characters in this group are still going strong, such as Rosita (Christian Serratos).

Their partnership, while sometimes rocky and occasionally friendly, was always a joy to watch. Even from their very first meeting, it’s so fun to watch their contrasting personalities collide:

Unfortunately, it’s widely remembered how heartbreaking Abraham’s untimely demise was — beaten to death by Negan using his infamous baseball bat, Lucille. On the other hand, Eugene is now a central figure in the show as we continue into the eleventh and final season. It would’ve been so nice to see them get more screen time together, but that just goes to show the brutality of the zombie-infested world.
