When does Stranger Things season 4 air?

Stranger Things season 4 has been on the horizon for years now, but when can viewers expect new episodes of the beloved Netflix show?

When Stranger Things‘ third season premiered in summer 2019, few expected the wait that would follow for the fourth.

Netflix shows can often take a different approach with how they release new seasons, meaning that longer waits than your typical in-season network TV shows are inevitable, but that didn’t prepare fans for the lengthy amount of time between seasons. Of course, we can attribute this to the production shutdown and delays that followed in 2020.

It’s been almost three years since season 3’s arrival on the streaming service and we know that Stranger Things 4 is on its way. The fourth season will take at least part of the story outside of Hawkins, meaning that it will turn much of the status quo we’ve come to expect from the show upside down.

Now, fans are once again eager to know when the show’s fourth season premieres.

Does Stranger Things season 4 have a release date?

Stranger Things season 4 will be released in summer 2022. The exact premiere date has yet to be confirmed by Netflix, but the streamer did release a teaser trailer at its TUDUM event last year, confirming that it would arrive this year.

Fans have been predicting that it could arrive on the first week of July (just like the third season did). Meanwhile, others have predicted that it might premiere on the sixth anniversary of the show’s original series premiere, July 15, which happens to be a Friday.

Regardless of when it arrives, fans are excited at the thought of having new episodes of Stranger Things this year – which is something they haven’t been able to say in two years.
