DC’s new “Heroes” trailer features the first real look at Black Adam and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, as well as new looks at The Batman, The Flash.

The DC Films Universe is growing at a rapid pace. The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are all coming out this year, positioning 2022 as a particularly ambitious time for DC’s best and brightest superheroes.

Most of the projects above have been kept tightly under wraps, but Warner Bros. has just released “The World Needs Heroes,” a video showcasing new snippets of footage from Black Adam and The Flash, as well as our first (and very brief) look at James Wan’s Aquaman sequel.

The video is brief (clocking in at one minute), but has some interesting moments. The film with the most footage revealed was Black Adam, offering our first official look at the Justice Society of America — Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell).

The teaser also revealed a better look at Dwayne Johnson in costume as Adam. The antihero’s attire is somewhat similar to Zachary Levi’s Shazam, but much older (he has, after all, been alive for quite a long time) and with a more sinister presence.

For Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the teaser only featured a shot of Jason Momoa in his previously-revealed stealth suit, as well as a shot of him sitting in his throne, sporting his gold-and-green armor.

The Flash‘s snippets were mostly taken from the teaser released during DC FanDome, but we did get a new shot of Barry Allen in his new costume as he prepares to run. His cowl now has lenses, which are surely nice to have when running at incredibly high speeds.

DC movie Release Dates

During the pandemic, numerous films experienced multiple delays, which made keeping up with release dates challenging. With that in mind, here is when each of the movies featured in “The World Needs Heroes” will arrive in theaters:

  • The Batman: March 04, 2022.
  • Black Adam: July 29, 2022.
  • The Flash: November 04, 2022.
  • Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: December 16, 2022.

It’s worth noting that DC League of Super-Pets was absent from “The World Needs Heroes,” even though it’s slated to come out on May 20, 2022 (between The Batman and Black Adam). However, that’s most likely due to Warner Bros. wanting to highlight its live-action and more adult-oriented ventures, differentiating them from the more children-oriented, animal-centric feature.
