Spider-Man: No Way Home just passed Avatar to move into the number 3 spot at the domestic box office.

Spider-Man: No Way Home swung into theaters just under two months ago with a giant $260 million opening weekend, narrowly surpassing Avengers: Infinity War by less than $3 million. The only movie to have a larger opening is Avengers: Endgame, with an untouchable $357 million. That means the top three opening weekends at the domestic box office belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For a while, only one MCU movie claimed a spot in the top three overall domestic box office, and now there are two.

Variety reports that, on Monday, Spider-Man: No Way Home topped Avatar’s $760.5 million mark. This makes it the third highest grossing movie of all time domestically. This is likely where it will stay. At the current rate, No Way Home will fall short of $800 million and land nowhere near Endgame’s $858 million total, which is number 2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens may forever look down at the rest of the blockbusters from its $936 million number 1 throne.

Will Spider-Man: No Way Home become the highest-grossing film of all-time worldwide?

Taking a look at the global charts, Spider-Man: No Way Home sits at number 6, with over $1.8 billion. It will fail to break through to the coveted $2 billion milestone. All of the $2 billion films make up the top five spots; Avatar at the summit, followed by Endgame, Titanic, The Force Awakens, and Infinity War. Still, the domestic box office is the most regarded benchmark. For Spider-Man: No Way Home to reach number 3, while the pandemic is still a public health concern, was unforeseeable and is the most impressive theatrical accomplishment of this decade so far.

With No Way Home’s financial success, the MCU now possesses half of the top ten movies in domestic box office history. Black Panther, Infinity War, and The Avengers join Endgame and No Way Home on the list. With Black Panther pulling in $700 million in 2018, the franchise occupies three of the top five box office films.

Here is a current snapshot of the domestic box office top ten list:

  1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens – $936,662,225
  2. Avengers: Endgame – $858,373,000
  3. Spider-Man: No Way Home – $760,988,000
  4. Avatar – $760,507,625
  5. Black Panther – $700,426,566
  6. Avengers: Infinity War – $678,815,482
  7. Titanic – $659,363,944
  8. Jurassic World – $652,385,625
  9. The Avengers – $623,357,910
  10. Star Wars: The Last Jedi – $ 620,181,382
