Doctor Strange 2: Hayley Atwell primed to make live-action Captain Carter debut

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to feature many cameos and it appears Hayley Awtell’s Captain Carter might be among them.
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly 15 years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe first launched and yet more than a decade later Marvel continues to surprise fans in new and unexpected ways.
2021, in particular, was a game-changing year that expanded the MCU in unimaginable new ways in one of the biggest years in the franchise’s history. What’s even crazier is that it was just the beginning!
Soon, the multiverse will break wide open, allowing Marvel to explore countless new stories and opening the door for the introduction of several new faces. We’ve known for some time that the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel has the potential to be one of the biggest MCU movies yet and the latest promotional trailer and poster definitely seem to reaffirm our suspicions.
New Doctor Strange 2 poster teases return of Captain Carter
On Super Bowl Sunday, Marvel debuted a brand new trailer and poster which have each been filled with several Easter Eggs including teasers about the involvement of some major Marvel characters.
In addition to featuring a possible first look at Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, the stunning Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness poster also teases the return of Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter.
Within one of the many glass shards featured within the poster, there is a clear shot of Captain Carter’s shield — a shield first seen when the character made her MCU debut via the animated What If…? series on Disney Plus.
Is Hayley Atwell in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
At this time, Marvel has not yet confirmed the full cast of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which means Hayley Atwell’s involvement in the project has not yet been officially confirmed.
This is far from uncommon when it comes to Marvel. Most recently, Spider-Man: No Way Home pulled off several stunning cameos after keeping its cast list under tight lock and key.
Given Atwell returned to voice Captain Carter in What If…? and has expressed an openness to return to the MCU.
Considering how prevalent Captain Carter’s shield is on the new Doctor Strange poster it definitely seems likely the character will be involved in the film in some way and there is no way Marvel brings the character into the mix with anyone other than Hayley Atwell playing the character.
