Portal Games announce new Batman game developed with DC and Warner Bros.
A new tabletop Batman game is coming this spring and here is everything you need to know about Batman: Everybody Lies.
As reported by ComicBook.com, a new Batman tabletop game is set for release this spring.
Batman: Everybody Lies comes from Portal Games and it is a story-driven, cooperative, and investigative interactive tabletop game for 2-4 players, who can play as one of four key investigators: Warren Spacey, Vicki Vale, Harvey Bullock, and Catwoman.
The new game employs a Detective Investigation System, which is part of the game’s engine. Everybody Lies is part of a wave of Detective games series with this title being one of the latest for Portal Games. It makes use of cards, physical handouts, clues, and a website that holds a database for other game materials.
Consisting of 2-3 hours of play, Everybody Lies contains an introductory Prologue and three cases.
Based on the character each player uses, there are scenarios in which something called a hidden agenda mechanic then grants secret goals and win conditions to each play depending on the character they play as. Throughout the game, they will then cross paths with DC characters such as Batman, Penguin, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy.
Players have a time limit and amount of resources to solve each chapter of the storyline. The Batman game also uses scenes with dynamic, sequential comic book illustrations to immerse players within the narrative including shots of the Batcave, the Gotham Gazette, and the harrowing halls of Arkham Asylum.
Will you purchase the game when it comes out this spring? Who would you most like to play as? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
