Marvel Studios welcomes This is Us star Lyric Ross to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a key role in its upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart.

This is Us has been one of the greatest and deepest shows of all time. The cast has continued to put on award-winning performances for six seasons. Among those performers who have been giving incredible performances is Lyric Ross who plays the adoptive daughter of Randall and Tess Pearson, Deja. She’s been an important part of the show since she started and continues to be one.

Her performance in This Is Us hasn’t gone unnoticed. She was recently cast as a character in the recent Disney Plus Marvel Studios project IronheartThe Hollywood Reporter says that she will be playing Riri Williams’ best friend Natalie Washington in the Disney Plus Marvel Studios Ironheart.

The role of Natalie Washington is crucial to the Ironheart story. She was one of the few people that Riri (played by Dominique Thorne) could talk to. Natalie wasn’t the genius that Riri is. There aren’t many people who are. What made Natalie special was she helped Riri get out of her head for a little while. She could actually be a teenager. Then, tragedy struck when Natalie and Riri’s father was gunned down during a drive-by.

Lyric Ross’ time on This Is Us is going to help her in this role. The kind of emotion necessary to play the tragedy here takes talent. Lyric Ross was the right person to play her. Especially since Ironheart isn’t going to be like any of the Disney Plus Marvel Studios shows we’ve seen.

Of course, there will be some funny moments, but it won’t be over the top like the first few episodes of WandaVision or Hawkeye. We’re going to see a lot of moments that are going to make us sob, cry, and flat out lose it. When Lyric Ross puts on her performance, she’s going to be nominated for multiple awards.
