Batman: DC Comics’ Bat-Family characters ranked from worst to best
By Mark Lynch
13. Helena Bertinelli (Huntress)
Helena Bertinelli was raised in a mafia household and didn’t know until later in life. When she was eight years old, her mother was killed in front of her. It was an order that was sent out by her biological father. Years later, she sees Batman take down her mafia family and she takes that as a sign to do the same thing.
Huntress is brutal. She can unleash a beating on someone that they’ll never forget. On top of that, she’s an incredible hunter. If she wants to find someone, they won’t escape her. On that note, she really needs to star in her own solo series so that she doesn’t risk becoming an afterthought in someone else’s.
The Huntress appeals to a wide range of superhero and comic book fans and we should see more of her in the future.

12. Harper Row (Bluebird)
Harper Row is one of this writer’s favorite Bat-Family members – mostly because she’s nothing like the rest. She has the ability to fight, but is more into creating and helping than punching and kicking. Her intelligence helped save Batman after fighting the Court of Owls. That same genius was Crucial in helping during the Batman Eternal series. Without her, Batman may have died in both stories.
One of the things this writer appreciates is how she manages both her personal life and being a hero. Bluebird isn’t as active as the rest of the Bat-Family, but she remains a consistent protector of Gotham. Recently, she’s been going after Punchline in order to keep the people close to her and her brother safe. It’s good that they’ve kept her story and personality consistent even though she’s not in any main plots.
