Batwoman season 3 concluded on a stunning note but will this iconic Batman villain be making his presence felt in season 4.

Batwoman certainly didn’t hold back when it came to season 3.

Kicking off with the introduction of new versions of classic Batman villains, it saw Ryan Wilder square off with her unhinged brother Marquis, who became the next generation’s answer to The Joker.

The season 3 finale saw Batwoman take on Marquis in one final battle above Gotham City in the Bat-Blimp, resulting in the Scarlet Knight (who received some help from Alice) defeating her brother once and for all. Batwing was then able to prevent the Bat-Blimp from poisoning all of Gotham, but it did have to go down somewhere.

The closing moments of the finale then saw Gotham City news reporter Dana DeWitt killed by a deadly skeletal figure that rose from the wreckage. Could it be this iconic Batman Beyond villain?

Is Blight coming to Gotham City in Batwoman season 4?

While it has yet to be confirmed who the deadly figure at the end of Batwoman season 3’s finale actually is, there is potential that it could be the Batman Beyond villain Blight.

In the classic 1999 animated series, billionaire Derek Powers is exposed to deadly chemicals and becomes the highly radioactive villain – a villain that just so happens to look like a skeleton (albeit a bright green one).

So is this mysterious Batwoman villain Blight? Well, that remains to be seen. Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Caroline Dries revealed that she does have a particular character in mind, but that “it would require getting some approvals”.

With that in mind, it could be Blight, but it could also be another major DC villain (such as a new version of the Scarecrow or Solomon Grundy, perhaps?).

Of course, this all hinges on the show actually getting renewed for a fourth season. The CW has yet to renew any of its beloved shows for new seasons, so fans of all of them have been eagerly awaiting updates. As of yet, however, they have not come.
