This Wednesday, Batwoman season 3 is back with a brand new episode. The Arrowverse series had been off screens for two weeks, along with the other shows on the network, due to the Olympics. But it returned last week with a new episode and now it’s back with its season finale.
Batwoman‘s second season was certainly quite the reboot for the series. Well-received by fans for a number of reasons, the biggest talking-point from it was the introduction of Javicia Leslie as the titular hero. Following Ruby Rose’s departure, Leslie donned the cape, cowl and wig as a new character named Ryan Wilder – who stepped up to save the city as the new Scarlet Knight.
It also focused on wrapping up Kate Kane’s arc as well as throwing a lot more trauma the Kane family’s way. Moreover, Ryan had her own trauma to deal with as she sought to take down Alice, ultimately deciding that imprisonment in Arkham Asylum would be the best place for her.
The third season will continue to see this unusual dynamic between the pair explored. It has also introduced us to the Arrowverse versions of a lot of major Batman villains, including Poison Ivy. After subduing the new versions of the Mad Hatter and Killer Croc with the help of Alice in
and dealing with the fallout of the missing Mr. Freeze trophy (a cannister of liquid nitrogen) in the third, Ryan had to come to terms with the new dynamic this season that saw her and the villain forced to work together – all while she struggled with the uneasy family dynamic she has found herself in with the Jets, particularly her dangerous brother Marquis.
