Jessica Jones will be joining Disney Plus. Here’s when it’ll happen and why it’s a good thing.

Jessica Jones was easily the best Marvel Comics show on Netflix. While some of the other shows may have lacked in more than a few areas, this show didn’t have many. Season 2 was its weakest, but it wasn’t the fault of the show or the creative team. Season 1 was flawless. Especially its antagonist, Zebediah Killgrave. There’s no way it wouldn’t be compared to the premier season and come up short. Thankfully, season 3 was incredible.

Krysten Ritter was perfect as Jessica Jones. She had all of the attitude, toughness, and vulnerability of her Marvel Comics counterpart. A lot of people were shocked when this was among the canceled Marvel Netflix shows.

The good news is, Jessica Jones leaving Netflix isn’t the end. First, it comes to Disney Plus on March 16, 2022. Second, the show’s popularity won’t keep the character down.

Jessica Jones coming to Disney Plus is a good thing

Jessica Jones coming to Disney Plus helps for a couple of reasons. First, and the most obvious, is the renewal of the show. This was the only Marvel Comics Netflix show that compares to Daredevil. On some levels, it’s better. It’s a more well-rounded show that hits on deeper topics like misogyny, alcoholism, and PTSD. Those topics bring us to the next reason. Disney Plus needs more adult content.

The Disney Plus Marvel shows are usually PG-13 or lower. Jessica Jones is made for adult viewers. She curses, drinks, and, as it was mentioned above, the adult content isn’t something we see often. It’s happened, but not like Jessica Jones.

This writer has stated that Disney Plus needs an adult section. If not, there are a plethora of characters who won’t get shows. Or worse, they’ll be watered-down versions of the heroes and villains we love.
