The Batman is now in movie theaters, but is it a success or a flop? How is it performing at the box office so far and how is it expected to perform this opening weekend?

Warner Bros. is no stranger to big time box office success, particularly when it comes to DC Comics-based films. However, in recent years, a number of missteps when setting up the DC Extended Universe has resulted in quite a few underperformers (which weren’t helped by poor critic and fan responses).

The movie expected to turn the critical and commercial tide for them is The Batman. Another reboot for the iconic Caped Crusader completely set apart from the DCEU, it stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role and sees his Batman face off against Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell) and the big bad of the movie The Riddler (Paul Dano).

Reviews out of the gate have been highly positive, as has fan response, with there being a major consensus that Matt Reeves has successfully revived the franchise and that Robert Pattinson is a worthy successor to the legendary role. But how is the movie doing at the box office?
