When does Loki season 2 start?
Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief will be back on Disney Plus but when can we expect Loki season 2 to begin?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s God of Mischief took center stage last year in his very own Disney Plus series.
Loki was a project that many Marvel fans were excited about, primarily because it allowed MCU veteran Tom Hiddleston to return as Thor’s trickster brother in a series that focused solely on him. It ultimately lived up to expectations and went on to become one of the biggest TV shows of last year.
Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, it saw the 2012 version of Loki disappear into the timeline with the Tesseract. When he re-emerged, however, he was met by the Time Variance Authority and, as a new mystery unfolded, he soon found himself at the center of it.
The thing that sets Loki apart from its two predecessors, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is the fact that it opted against going the miniseries route and will return for a second season, announcing that decision through the post-credits scene of the season 1 finale.
When is Loki season 2 released?
While information about Loki season 2 has been scarce, recent reports indicate that it will begin production in summer 2022. That’s earlier than many of us expected but as that means production hasn’t actually started yet, it likely rules out a 2022 release window.
The earliest fans can probably expect Loki season 2 to debut is mid-2023, as there will be a pretty lengthy gap between the end of production and its eventual release date for post-production (and any potential reshoots) to take place.
Nonetheless, the fact that filming will commence in the coming months is definitely something to be excited about!
