Ms. Marvel brings Kamala Khan to screens in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

One of the many Disney Plus shows produced by Marvel Studios, the upcoming Ms. Marvel will follow in the footsteps of WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Marvel’s What If…? by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen. It will also feature Iman Vellani in the titular role, introducing fans to the new hero and setting the stage for the 2022 feature film The Marvels.

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why viewers are so excited for the show’s arrival. But just how much information is available in regards to the mysterious series that we still don’t know that much about?

Ms. Marvel release date

Ms. Marvel season 1 will debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, only a few short weeks after the Moon Knight season finale drops on Disney+ and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens in theaters.

The series will become Marvel’s second original scripted series of 2022, and the show’s arrival comes roughly a year out from when it was originally slated to bow in Summer 2021.

Ms. Marvel cast

The series will, of course, be led by Iman Vellani in her first major role. The rest of the cast will mainly consist of Kamala’s family and friends but there are a number of mysterious roles that have been cast but haven’t been revealed.

After teasing fans with a few quick glimpses of footage, Marvel finally debuted the show’s first feature trailer on March 15 on the same date the studio confirmed the show’s June 8 release date. The exciting trailer offers fans their first look at many of the show’s characters and teases the origin of Kamala Khan’s journey to becoming Ms. Marvel.

In addition to the official trailer for the series, the studio previously unveiled a sneak peek teaser back in December 2020 as part of Disney Investor Day, featuring a little footage from the show.

What is Ms. Marvel about?

While no official information has been released in regards to the plot of Ms. Marvel, it will tell the live-action origin story of Kamala Khan. We don’t know much about what that will entail right now but it will be imperative to the wider MCU by introducing its newest hero and setting up The Marvels – in which Vellani will reprise her role alongside Captain Marvel‘s Brie Larson and WandaVision‘s Teyonah Parris.
