Superman and Lois has been one of The CW’s biggest hits in recent years but will the show be back for season 3?

Superman and Lois has quickly become one of the biggest superhero shows today. An offshoot of The CW’s ever-growing Arrowverse, it’s a spin-off focused on the Supergirl versions of the Man of Steel (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) but the story that it tells is unlike any we have seen from the characters before.

The series’ appeal (outside of the fact that it brings the two legendary DC Comics characters back to the small screen) is the fact that it is essentially a family drama. Clark Kent and Lois Lane are parents raising their children in Smallville as they attempt to live as normal a life as possible (in a world that we already know from years of watching the Arrowverse shows is as extranormal as they come).

Superman and Lois season 2 premiered on The CW back in January and it has successfully recreated the success of its predecessor, with fans hooked on the central mystery involving the arrival of Bizarro. But with renewal and cancelation season upon us at a very uncertain time for The CW, can the show make a comeback for season 3?

Is Superman and Lois canceled?

No, Superman and Lois has not been canceled. In fact, it’s one of the shows on The CW most likely to get renewed.

Yes, it’s a very uncertain time for the network given the potential sale currently in progress, but the newest Arrowverse series is among the network’s top two best-performing shows in linear ratings, with the second episode of season 2 being the most-watched broadcast on The CW this season. The truth is that, aside from Walker, no other shows have come close to matching it in viewers this season.

Furthermore, it’s also one of The CW’s best-received shows from a critical standpoint, with reception to the second season matching the high praise that season 1 received.

With all of that in mind – not-to-mention the fact that we’re talking about a Superman and Lois Lane show here – we should definitely expect to be watching Superman & Lois season 3 next season.
