Moon Knight: 5 huge things we learned from episode 1
By Mark Lynch
4. Moon Knight’s multiple personalities
Steven Grant’s multiple personalities are going to be a major part of this show. As they should. The first clue to their presence in the series was the reveal that Steven asked a woman he liked on a date. Except, it wasn’t really him. He had no memory of this. It was one of his other personalities. That showed viewers that the switch can occur whenever. Not just when he’s asleep.
That night, we see Steven’s complete nightly routine and everything he does to make sure he stays in bed. It doesn’t work. Steven wakes up somewhere else in the world with an injured jaw. It gets more confusing for him when Khonshu starts talking to him. He asks Steven to surrender the body to Marc. When he doesn’t, Khonshu says, “the idiot’s in control.” It’s great to know that his issues with who he is will be a big part of Moon Knight.
3. Arthur Harrow is not to be taken lightly
In the beginning of the episode, Arthur Harrow puts shards of broken glass in his shoes before walking away from his table. It initially raised some unsettling questions. Soon after, though, it became clear that Arthur has powers.
After Marc wakes up in another place, he sees Arthur around his flock. They’re willing to give up their lives for him and the god he seemingly serves. One person is found worthy. The next, however, a woman who’s been good her entire life, the balance was not tipped in her favor when she met with Arthur. The scale tattoos on Arthur’s arm moved for both, showcasing his powers. Arthur is a servant of his god Ammit like Marc is for Khonshu. He even hears her voice.
