Moon Knight: 5 huge things we learned from episode 1
By Mark Lynch
2. Duchamp
There aren’t a lot of people that the comic book version of Marc Spector, Steven Grant, or Jake Lockley trusts. There are even less that stay in his life period. Among them is his pilot, brother in arms, and best friend, Jean-Paul DuChamp. This writer said that he needed to be part of Moon Knight. According to Marc’s phone records, he does actually exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hopefully we’ll see him in this season. It would be disappointing to see his name and not the actual person, especially since he’s an amazing character.
1. Khonshu is a jerk
When Steven didn’t give his body over to Marc, Khonshu remarked “the idiot’s in control.” A funny moment, for sure, but that’s not the best part. That shows how much like his Marvel Comic counterpart Khonshu really is. It also suggests that he’ll be a big part of Moon Knight.
In the comic books, Khonshu doesn’t tolerate disobedience from his avatar. It doesn’t look like he will allow it on the show either. He was more than willing to let Steven Grant die. He has a job to do. If this avatar can’t get it done, he’ll anoint another one. It’s why Khonshu continued to call Steven an idiot. We should expect this to continue throughout the series.
