Happy First Contact Day, Trekkies! As any loyal fan of the franchise will know, today, April 5, commemorates the day when Vulcans made contact with humans for the first time near Bozeman, Montana, in 2063 in the film Star Trek: First Contact with its stellar soundtrack. Though the eighth film in the Star Trek franchise came out in November 1996, fans still celebrate the day this momentous contact occurred with First Contact Day every April 5.
Now you can join in the merriment by getting a copy of the collector’s edition of Star Trek: First Contact that’s on sale for less than $4 on Amazon. However, you can also get the regular DVD for under $10 or Blu-ray for around $14.

Star Trek: First Contact stars the cast of the television show of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This includes familiar characters like Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), Data (Brent Spiner), William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes), and Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). In the film, there is a new Borg threat against Earth that the USS Enterprise team must combat in the 24th century. After trying to defeat the Borg, the USS Enterprise team realize that the Borg have used time travel to change the past. This recognition prompts Picard and his crew to go back in time to 2063, where the Borg are trying to prevent the first contact between humans and Vulcans.
