Marvel Comics news in brief (April 9, 2022)

"“How can you be strong if you won’t heal what’s broke? How do you *heal* without saying where it hurts?” – Fisher King"
X-Men Red: The Brotherhood of Arakko
Marvel Comic: X-Men Red No. 1
In the final issues of Al Ewing’s S.W.O.R.D. No. 6, readers find out that Abigail Brand is working with Orchis. She says that doesn’t think like an Earther. She’s a spacer and spacers think in solar systems. We didn’t find out much about that after. That was until X-Men Red No. 1.
Storm was having a talk with Brand. Brand keeps calling Storm queen and claims that Arrako needs a version of the X-Men to be ambassadors. Storm hears her, but she’s also tired of being called a queen. She later destroys her “throne” and says, “No thrones on Arrako.”
Meanwhile, Magneto feels like a failure. He thinks that everything he’s tried to do has failed. He decided to create a home for himself on Arrako. After having a fight with Vulcan that was broken up by John Proudstar, Roberto Da Costa, a.k.a. Sunspot, came to Magento saying that Abigail Brand is up to something. Storm entered Magneto’s new home and agreed. She also claims that Arrako doesn’t need X-Men; they need a Brotherhood.
"“I wouldn’t hurt a mutant fly” – Cassandra Nova"
Cassandra Nova was given feelings
Marvel Comic: Marauders No. 1 (2022)
The reports that Cassandra Nova was coming back were intriguing. She’s one of the most powerful mutants in the universe and she’s responsible for the greatest tragedy in mutant history (read New X-Men: E is for Extinction for more on that). Even though all mutants are allowed on Krakoa and given a second chance, how could she be allowed back?! Turns out it happened because Jean Grey gave her an “Injection of compassion.”
Before Cassandra Nova left, Jean noticed that Cassandra hadn’t changed at all. Nova said that she’s not done being an atrocity, but mutants have nothing to fear from her. Let’s see how long that lasts. Hopefully long enough for the Marauders to save the first generations of mutants from the Shi’ar.
