The Walking Dead will not return with new episodes in April 2022
The Walking Dead season 11, part 2 will not be airing any more new episodes in April, but when does it come back on?
The Walking Dead has been making headlines on a weekly basis since it returned to AMC in February. It’s no surprise given we are talking about one of the biggest shows in the world here, but it’s been good to have the show back – that’s for sure.
The veteran zombie drama has been on the air for over 10 years but it will be bowing out this year as its eleventh, and current, season will be its last. And AMC plans on making the most of it while it can, as it has been splitting season 11 up into three separate installments (each one made up of eight episodes) and taking a lengthy break between them.
The second part of the final season just wrapped, bringing season 11’s episode count to 16 thus far. With the season’s second midseason finale airing on AMC, that means we have only eight episodes of the show’s run left. That said, the show has ventured on its second midseason break, so those eight episodes won’t be airing for some time.
When is The Walking Dead season 11 back with new episodes?
It has yet to be revealed when The Walking Dead season 11 will debut its final eight episodes. However, it is worth noting that spin-off Fear The Walking Dead will take its slot on AMC going forward. Fear TWD will return to air the second part of its second season and that could be an indicator of when we could expect The Walking Dead to return.
Season 7 of the spin-off wraps on June 5, meaning that we could see the TWD Universe’s parent show return as early as June 12.
It’s not confirmed yet but it is worth keeping June or July in mind as possible return months for the show as AMC has been swapping both shows in and out as they each wrap up their respective midseason runs.
