Batman: Bruce Wayne and Harley Quinn are married in White Knight
By Mark Lynch
Batman married Harley Quinn in the White Knight universe.
Batman: White Knight had a different take on the origin of the Bat-Family. In this universe, Harley Quinn found a way to temporarily cure Jack Napier of his Joker affliction. With Jack cured, he found a way to make a better Gotham City.
Despite doing a good job fixing Gotham, Batman didn’t believe that Jack had changed. This leads to the eventual incarceration of Batman, a team-up between Jack and Bruce, and Joker replacing Jack as the dominant personality once again.
In the next White Knight series, Harley Quinn kills Joker. This made sure that Gotham would never be terrorized by the Clown Prince of Crime ever again. The series continues with Bruce Wayne coming out as the Dark Knight and ending up in prison. In Batman: White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn,
Harley would visit Bruce in prison. Harley went to Bruce for help, but it seemed like it was more than just a professional relationship. During one of their visits, she drew a heart on the outside of the glass during their phone call. Readers find out in Batman: Beyond the White Knight No. 2 that their connection was romantic. Harley and Bruce Wayne are married.
This is the most unlikely couple in comic book history. Harley is one of the Dark Knight’s craziest villains. Even when Harley became a hero, she was still not someone that Bruce Wayne would date. Nevertheless, it makes sense in this universe. It came at a time when the two of them lost people and needed each other. As weird as it may seem on paper, it’s perfect in this reality.
