Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not coming to Disney Plus in May 2022

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might be opening in theaters on May 5, but don’t expect the film to arrive on Disney Plus this month as well!
On May 6, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will open in theaters across the globe providing audiences the chance to catch up with the latest adventures of Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff in what is set to be one of the biggest movies of the year!
The film is sure to set the box office on fire this May and for good reason. Not only is the film the latest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is reason enough for audiences to flock to theaters, but it doesn’t hurt that the movie can only be seen in theaters.
That’s right. If you were hoping to be able to watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Disney Plus we have some bad news for you as the film will not be streaming on Disney Plus in May 2022.
Why is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness not on Disney Plus?
Although Disney Plus became home to several Disney theatrical releases in recent years on the same day the films opened in theaters, the studio has since pivoted back to giving its biggest movies exclusive theatrical runs. As a result, major blockbusters such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness open exclusively in theaters and no longer are dropping on Disney Plus for streaming via Disney Premier the same day as their theatrical release.
Is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming to Disney Plus?
While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness won’t be coming to Disney Plus in May, the good news is that the film will be coming to Disney Plus this summer.
Currently, it is expected that the latest from Marvel Studios will arrive sometime this July with an exact release date expected to be announced closer to the film’s Disney Plus debut.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 6.
