Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness age rating: Is the Marvel movie suitable for kids?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is almost upon us, but is it suitable for family-viewing.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is arguably the most anticipated movie of the year. The 28th cinematic installment in the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, it will bring Benedict Cumberbatch’s all-powerful wizard back for his second solo outing. However, there is a lot more mystery surrounding this film than its predecessor had.
Directed by Sam Raimi, it will follow on from the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home in showcasing the after effects of Stephen Strange’s tampering with the multiverse. Part of those after effects appear to be consequences as he will have to answer to a higher-power. Moreover, it will also follow on from the events of WandaVision as Elizabeth Olsen returns as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch.
With the movie’s release now upon us, there are definitely a lot of questions about what we can expect from it. One question that many fans are no doubt eager to know the answer to in it’s opening weekend is if it’s suitable for family-viewing.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness age rating
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of violence and action, frightening images and some language”. For fans in the UK, it has been rated 12A.
While this is the same age rating that most Marvel movies receive, it’s worth noting that Doctor Strange 2 is taking more of a horror-approach, with Sam Raimi’s stylistic tone allowing for a much darker movie. With that in mind, it’s best to air on the side of caution while considering if it’s suitable for family viewing.
