Moon Knight episode 6: 6 things we learned from the season finale
By Mark Lynch
5. Could Layla have been a good Moon Knight?
Marc Spector thought that Khonshu wanted Layla El-Faouly as his avatar. Come to find out, he didn’t (more on that later). This was just another lie to keep Marc in check. However, we’ve seen what Layla can do. Could she have been a worthy avatar of Khonshu? This writer votes yes.
In some ways, Laya is better than Marc. For one, she’s in control of her mind. And, as we saw when she became Taweret’s avatar, she adapted to the abilities quicker than Steven. Layla may have been able to unlock different Moon Knight powers. As we’ve seen from Marc and Steven, each user gets a different power and suit when they’re the protector of the night travelers.
4. What else can the Moon Knight suit do?
Before getting the suit, Marc was killed. In episode 4, Marc was killed again. Each time, he was resurrected by Khonshu. When he was in the suit as Moon Knight, Marc and Steven were stabbed, beaten, and thrown through windows. Yet they kept getting back up and fighting. Those are only the defensive capabilities.
Marc flew through the sky at amazing speed to stop Ammit. His moon projectiles come out of his chest when he needs them. The most impressive thing is how the suit adapted to the user. Marc and Steven switched weapons and abilities when it was needed. Wait until we see how it adapts to Jake Lockley.
