Did Wanda die in Doctor Strange 2?
Sadly, it is implied that the Scarlet Witch died at the end of Doctor Strange 2. After realizing how her evolution into the Scarlet Witch had corrupted her, leading her to take the lives of countless innocent bystanders in her quest to steal America Chavez’s powers in order to travel to another reality to be with her sons, Tommy and Billy.
When America transports her back to the universe where the Wanda she took control over earlier in the film lives, she is heartbroken to see the alternate versions of her sons shudder in fear upon her arrival — terrified she’ll harm them.
After realizing the gravity of what she has done, Wanda vows to destroy the Darkhold so that no one in any universe can ever use its magic to do harm again. In doing so, she brings down the temple upon Wundagore Mountain while she’s still inside.
The one hope for Wanda fans is that we never saw her body after the temple collapses, it’s simply implied that she perished in the moment. Given the character’s popularity among audiences, it’s going to be interesting to see if we’ve really seen the last of Wanda and only time will tell if we truly have.
