Doctor Strange 2 pitted Wanda Maximoff against the Scarlet Witch, but what did she tell her?

After much anticipation, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has arrived. The Marvel Cinematic Universe film is undoubtedly one of 2022’s most eagerly-awaited movies and it’s set to dominate the box office in the weeks ahead.

Benedict Cumberbatch is back as the former Sorcerer Supreme, but he’s not the only familiar face from the MCU in the Multiverse of Madness. Joining him is Elizabeth Olsen, who reprises her role as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, in a story that is as much about that character as it is the titular hero.

Both actors also play alternate versions of themselves, as the multiverse-hopping takes them to parallel dimensions. If you’ve already seen the movie and would like to know what one of Wanda’s doppelgangers says to her, read on.

The film sees Wanda, having now fully evolved into the Scarlet Witch, attempt to take America Chavez’s powers from her so that she can travel across the multiverse. When America and Doctor Strange jump to another earth, Wanda possesses that earth’s doppelganger of herself.

What does Wanda say to Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange 2?

When the Scarlet Witch returns to the alternate Wanda’s house to take her children, Tommy and Billy Maximoff run away from her in fear, frightfully calling her “The Witch”. It’s in this moment that Wanda realizes the monster she has become and abandons her plan to rip her children away from the other Wanda, their actual mother.

The Wanda doppelganger then softly cradles the Scarlet Witch’s face and tells her: “Know that they’ll be loved”.

It was a powerful moment as this Wanda, who had not evolved into the Scarlet Witch like our Wanda had, understood her doppelganger’s motivations and comforted her with the knowledge that Tommy and Billy will know and experience all the love that she so desperately wanted to give them.
